Mike Ryan was medically retired in 2020 after 18 years of service and 3 tours including missions in Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia.
FIRST RESPONDER
On the civilian side, Mike was a career Firefighter EMT. His last truck assignment was Engine 823 in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
BIRDIES + BLUNTS WAS BORN
The transition from military and public service was a difficult one. In addition to dealing with the impacts of Traumatic Brain Injuries and Complex PTSD, Mike lost one of his best friends in the service to suicide. Not wanting to be part of the 22 a day veteran suicide statistic, Mike knew he needed to find comfort and purpose. Cannabis provided some much needed comfort while the endless pursuit of golf perfection provided purpose.....and just like that, birdies + blunts was born.
